Doris E. Elzey Schwartz

Doris E. Schwartz, 86, of Bluffton, formerly of Fort Wayne passed away Thursday April 8, 2010 at Bluffton Regional Medical Center. Born on July 9, 1923 in Wells County to the late Isom and Effie (Decker) Elzey, Mrs. Schwartz worked for Bowmar Instrument Co. for 29 years retiring in 1987. She was a former member of the South Wayne United Methodist Church and attended Avalon Missionary Church. She enjoyed the lake and also enjoyed watching Indiana University and Cubs games. Surviving are her husband, Wendell “Bill” Schwartz of Bluffton; sons, Ron (Dian) Schwartz of Milford, IN, Dave (Jo) Schwartz of Ft. Wayne, and Steve (Patty) Schwartz of Syracuse, IN; 14 Grandchildren and 24 Great-Grandchildren; sisters, Viva Falk and V Maxine Dentel both of Bluffton IN and brother-in-law Hershel (LaVerta) Schwartz of Bluffton. Preceding Mrs. Schwartz in passing were 4 brothers and 5 sisters. Services are 2:00 pm Tuesday April 13, 2010 at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Funeral Homes, 120 W Mill St, Ossian with calling one hour prior to services. Calling is also from 2-4 and 6-8 Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Hoverstock Cemetery. In honor of Bill preferred memorials may be made to American Alzheimer’s Assoc.
