

Edwin A. Peck, 95, of Ossian passed away Thursday, December 25, 2014. He was born on November 17, 1919 in Moran, Kansas to the late Newton and Mabel (Davis) Peck. He was the owner, publisher, and editor of the Ossian Journal and Sunriser News. He served in the U.S. Army in the South Pacific during World War II. He was a member of Am. Legion Post 111. He served as treasurer for many years at the Ossian lions Club. He enjoyed volunteering at Blue Cross Blue Shield in Bluffton and serving on the Council of Aging in Allen and Wells County. He was active in the choir and other councils at the First Presbyterian Church in Ossian where he was a member. He was also very active in the Republican Party. Surviving family include his wife of 18 years, Maxine Hale Peck; children; Gregory A. Peck and Candice R. (Kenneth) Fries; three grandsons, Benjamin (Mallory), Andrew (Anita), and Lucas Fries; and a sister in law, Mary Lou (Woodward) Peck. Besides his parents, he was preceded in passing by his first wife, Vera (Kapp) Peck; and siblings, Miriam Hayes, Raymond and Richard Peck. A funeral service will be 11:00 am on Monday, December 29, 2014 at First Presbyterian Church Ossian, 123 south Jefferson St., with visitation one hour prior. Visitation will also be from 2-4 and 6-8 pm n Sunday, December 28, 2014 at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Funeral Home, 120 West Mill St., Ossian. Burial will be in Oak Lawn Cemetery. Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church, Ossian.
