

Florence Anna Yager, 83, of Ossian, went to her heavenly home on Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at her home. She was born on September 6, 1928 in Fort Wayne to the late Albert and Dorothy (Peterson) Wehmeyer. She worked as a lab-tech at Amoco Oil and as a secretarial assistant at Northern Wells Community Schools before retiring in 1993. She was a member of Psi Iota Xi sorority, WSCS, Knitters Club, and the Ossian United Methodist Church. She enjoyed volunteering at the church and with the Girl Scouts, oil painting, singing in the church choir, teaching children how to swim, cooking for her family, quilting with the ladies at the church, and she was proud that she won Women of the Year at the church. Surviving family include her loving husband of 63 years, Lloyd Yager of Ossian whom she married on February 5, 1949, children, Kathleen (Harold) Clark of Ossian, Steve (Jan) Yager of Fort Wayne, Kim (Julie) Yager of Crawfordsville, IN; 8 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Marjorie Shomo, and brothers, Charles and Paul Wehmeyer. A funeral service will be 10:30 am on Friday, March 30, 2012 at Ossian United Methodist Church, 201 West Mill Street, Ossian with visitation one hour prior. Visitation will also be from 3-8 pm on Thursday, March 29, 2012 at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Funeral Home 120 West Mill Street, Ossian. Burial will take place in Oaklawn Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Ossian United Methodist Church or Muscular Dystrophy Association.
