

Helen Lucille Donaghy, 94, formerly of Ossian, passed away Saturday, February 14, 2015 at River Terrace Estates. She was born January 5, 1921 in Jay County to the late Russell and Alma (Milligan) Logan. She retired in 1980 after 37 years of working as a business and typing teacher at Ossian High School and then librarian at Norwell High School. She was a member of Ossian United Methodist Church, Wells County Homemaker’s Club, Sargasso Book Club, and enjoyed being a Sponsor for the Sunshine Society while she worked at the school. Surviving are her son, Gene (Marla) Donaghy of Ossian; step daughter, Judith (William) Tutalak of Caldwell, Idaho; grandchildren, Sarah (Michael) Uchrinscko, Renee (Kenneth) Jameson, Trisha (Cole) Hale, Allison (Andrew) Enderle, and Thomas (Joan) Gaskin; and great grandchildren, Kenedee and Rylee Jameson, Jensen Hale, and Garrett, Leland, and Brandon Gaskin. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 34 years, Alfred “Doc” Donaghy in 1986 and great grandson, Noah Allen Hale. Funeral service will be on Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Ossian United Methodist Church, 201 West Mill Street, Ossian, IN 46777 with visitation 1 hour prior. Visitation will also be on Tuesday, February 17, 2015 from 4 to 8 PM at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Funeral Home, 120 West Mill Street, Ossian, IN 46777. Burial will be in Oak Lawn Cemetery. Preferred memorials may be made to Ossian United Methodist Church or Norwell Dollar for Scholars.
