

John E. Hanna, 95, of Ossian, passed away Sunday, March 17, 2013. He was born on January 29, 1918 in Ossian to the late John D. and Eva C. (Hoover) Hanna. He retired from Rockwell International as a chemical engineer in the aerospace division. He enjoyed bicycling, his work with the Boy Scouts, and Wabash College. Surviving family include his wife, Gene (Platt) Hanna of Ossian; children, Nancy Kelly (Richard Shull) of Ossian, Priscilla (Raymond) Hartley of LaGrange, John C. (Diane) Hanna of Rochester, NY, Frederick (Bonnie)Hanna of San Luis Obispo, CA, Robert (Terry) Hanna of Trabuco Canyon, CA; grandchildren, Angelia (Don) Frisch, Robert (Carla) Kelly, Bill (Peggy) Smith, Jamie (Matt) Chamberlain, Jonathan (Stephanie) Hanna, Joseph (Tasha) Hanna, Torrey, Stephanie, Julie, Michelle Hanna; 16 great grandchildren, and 2 great great granddaughters; and nephew, Fr. Daniel Hanna. Besides his parents, he was preceded in passing by a son, William Michael Hanna; siblings, Russell Hanna, Mary Lehner, and Lavita Zundell. A funeral service will be 1:00 pm on Thursday, March 21, 2013 at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Funeral Home, 120 West Mill St., Ossian with visitation starting at 11:00 am. Memorials may be made to Boy Scouts of America or Wabash College. Burial will be in Oak Lawn Cemetery.
