Joyce J. Booker

Originally from Fort Wayne, Mrs. Booker lived most of her life in Ossian. She was born June 23, 1937, in Fort Wayne, to Ray Michael and June Eyer. She graduated from Northside High School and attended Fort Wayne Art School. She married Richard G. Cayot June 6, 1958, and had six children with him. They include: Kathy Gehrett of Bluffton, Linda (Gary) Stoffel of Huntington, Michael (Anne) Cayot of Bluffton, Steve (Kim) Cayot of Bellefontaine, Ohio, Yvonne (Jeffrey) Brown of Huntington, and Clark (Lisa) Cayot of Bellefontaine, Ohio. She has 15 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She married Ronald E. Booker in June of 1980, who preceded her in death in 2012. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Jean Brown, and a grandchild. She worked for many years at Kitco Inc. in Bluffton, until she retired. She was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Ossian, where she served as deacon. Joyce enjoyed her pursuit of art all her life and displayed her art in shows in Bluffton. A funeral service will be 11:30 am Wednesday, July 23 at First Presbyterian Church, Ossian with visitation one hour prior, Rev. Jay Cline officiating. Calling will also be from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 22, at the Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Funeral Home in Ossian. Burial will be at the Oak Lawn Cemetery in Ossian.
