June A. Springer

June Annette Springer, 85, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, passed away on April 4, 2026, at Byron Wellness Community. June was born June 25, 1940, in Ossian, Indiana, to Charles and Frieda Fenton.

June grew up on a farm in Ossian, Wells County, graduated from Ossian High School, and attended Ravenscroft Beauty School in Fort Wayne. She owned a beauty shop, “Shady Lane”, and later worked at Ellison Bakery and Seyfert’s. Above all, she loved her family and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, sewing, and quilting.

She married William "Bill" Arthur Springer on April 9, 1961. Their residence was established in southern Allen County, on a small farm located southeast of Poe. The couple raised three children together Dale, Jeff, and Jana.

She is survived by her brother, Roger Fenton; her children, Dale Springer, Jeff Springer, and Jana (Rob) Grothaus; and her grandchildren, Kyle Springer, Kelsey Trammell, Alex Springer, Nathan Springer, Jessica Springer, Kristen Boucher, Megan Schuler, and Alyssa Grothaus. She also leaves behind her step-granddaughter, Madison Buth, as well as her great-grandchildren, Jared Trammell, Cecila Springer, Jessa Springer, Lincoln Boucher, and Logan Boucher.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill; parents, Charles and Frieda; and brothers, Dale, Larry and Steven.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, April 12, 2026 at Emmanuel Ev. Lutheran Church (Soest), 9909 Wayne Trace, Fort Wayne, Indiana 46816, with visitation beginning at 12:00 pm. Burial to follow the service at Emmanuel Ev. Lutheran Church Cemetery.
