Loren C. Waitman

Loren C. Waitman, 72, passed away Friday, March 11, 2011 at Lutheran Hospital. He was born October 13, 1938 in Lima, Ohio to the late Glenn and Lucille (Gossard) Waitman. Mr. Waitman retired in 2003 as an elevator adjuster and installer. He had worked for many companies, including Bramalea, Haughton, Schindler and Millar elevator companies. Mr. Waitman was a member of Blackhawk Ministries and a 1956 graduate of Waynesfield-Goshen High School. Surviving are his wife, Barbara A. (Underwood) Waitman of Roanoke; daughter, Jeanne M. Franke of Roanoke; grandchildren Aaron and Lauren Franke; brother, Paul Waitman of Waynesfield, OH; stepchildren, Melany (Bill) Stokes of Lakeview, OH, Denella Engle of Lafayette, OH, James (Tammy) Engle of Elida, OH, Steven Engle of Lafayette, OH, and Sondra (Tim) Amstutz of Bluffton, OH; nine step grandchildren, seven step great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Preceding Mr. Waitman in death in addition to his parents, was his first wife, Lynda Jean (Walters) Waitman in 1997, sister, Carol Kinstle, brothers, Richard “Bud” Waitman and Leroy Waitman, and step son Gregory Engle. Funeral service will be Friday, March 18, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Funeral Home, 120 West Mill Street, Ossian, IN with visitation 1 hour prior to services. Visitation will also be on Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral Home. Burial will be at Elm Grove Cemetery, Bluffton, IN. Preferred memorials may be made to the Hope Center.
