Norma Jane Behning

Norma Jane Behning journeyed home to tend her garden for the Lord on June 2, 2015 at home surrounded by family. Beloved wife of Arthur J. Behning, she was born August 2, 1932 daughter of the late Mary Josephine and Verlin J. Dalrymple. She graduated from Ossian High School in 1950 and married Arthur, June17, 1951. She was a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother of love, compassion and strength. She helped the family through many trials being the hub of our wheel and our Rock. We are thankful for all she taught us. She worked outside the home at approximately 13 jobs the most memorable being Nobson, Lengerich Meats, a craft business and Grandma Sue’s Pies. She loved her gardening, sewing, doll making and collecting.

Surviving are Arthur J. Behning husband of 64 years, 3 children, Barbara Behning, Dennis (Rebecca) Behning and Tina (Ernest) Barclay. Grandchildren: Jode (Dave) Grassi, Christina (Jonathan) Coppock, Stephanie (Wade) Ambler, Brian (Missy) Behning, Elizabeth (Andrew) Teeple, Kimberly (Micah) Allen, Brandy Stronczek, Aaron (Janella) Stronczek, Christopher (Gina) Stronczek, Heather (Aaron) Springer and Tammy York. Great Grandchildren: Kayden, Jillian, Corben, Celia, Jarie, Everlee, Dustin, Brandon, Victoria, Olivia, a bundle of joy on the way and sister Connie Brubaker.

Her brother Robert Dalrymple also preceeded her in death.

Norma would like to thank her nurses especially Katie, RN and Deb, RN, Doctors Lane, Sadiq, Sue and I. Pod. A special thanks to Jessica and IHOP staff.

As a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Ossian funeral will be held at the church on Saturday June 6, 2015 at 10 am with visitation at Elzey Patterson Rodak Funeral Home , 120 W. Mill St. Ossian, Ind. Friday June 5, 2015, 2-4 and 6-8.

Burial in Oak Lawn Cemetery.
