Phyllis June Hunter, 84, of Fort Wayne, Indiana passed peacefully in her home on Saturday, January 10, 2026, surrounded by her family. Born in Ypsilanti, Michigan on September 23, 1941, daughter of the late Phillip and Ruth Springer. She married Robert Hunter in 1963 and celebrated 63 years together. They share 3 children, 7 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren whom she loved well. She graduated from International Business College and later worked as an administrative assistant at Parkview Hospital where she retired. Phyllis enjoyed knitting footies for her family and making needlepoint blankets for grandchildren. Phyllis will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Robert Hunter; son, Michael (Angie) Hunter; daughter, Susan (Nick) Boylan, and daughter, Mary (Bao) Ngo; and all her family. She was also joined in rest by her sister, Carolyn Wills. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, January 20, 2026 at Avalon Missionary Church 1500 Lower Huntington Road Fort Wayne, Indiana 46819, with visitation one hour prior. Visitation will also be held from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Monday, January 19, 2026 at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Funeral Home 120 West Mill Street, Ossian, Indiana 46777. She will be laid to rest at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery. Contributions in Phyllis’s memory may be made to Avalon Missionary Church, Heart-to-Heart Hospice, or a charity of your choice.
