

Joseph William Gratton, age 66, of Othello Washington, passed away August 3, 2013. He was born in Butte Montana on October 25, 1946 to Edward and Myrtle Gratton. Joseph graduated from Butte High School and received a Masters Degree from Heritage University. He was married to Vivian Chiemi Gratton on July 22, 1989 in Butte Montana. Joseph had a career as a special education teacher for over 30 years for various school districts the last of which was Royal City School District. He was a member of the Methodist Church. His primary passion in life was for his family, the children he taught, and fishing. He also enjoyed outdoor life, the ocean, the forest, and even the wildlife in his own backyard. Joseph is survived by his wife, Vivian, and three sons; Shawndee Gratton of Butte Montana, Troy Gratton of Moses Lake Washington, and Jacob Gratton of Kennewick Washington. Joseph also leaves two grandsons; Tyla Gratton of Seattle Washington, Bryce Gratton of Butte Montana to cherish his loving memory. Joseph is to be placed with his parents, who preceded him in death, at a private funeral service, at Mountain View Cemetery in Butte Montana.
