Amilcar Pereira

It is with great sadness that his family announce his passing on Thursday, November 11, 2021 at the Ottawa Civic Hospital at the age of 79 years. He was the son of the late Miguel Tomas Pereira and of the late Rita Da Silva. Cherished husband for 56 years of Maria Da Graça Pereira. Loving father of Carlos Manuel (Maria) Pereira, José Manuel (Paula) Pereira and of Filipe Miguel (Sofia) Pereira. Beloved grandfather of Matthew (Dominique), Eric (Samantha), Nicholas, Amanda and Noah. Amilcar was the brother of Piedade, Antonio, late Manuel and the late Dores. He will be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, extended relatives and friends.

Friends will be received at Racine, Robert & Gauthier Funeral Home, 180 Montreal Road (Ottawa) on Sunday, November 21st, 2021 from 1 – 4 p.m. A Funeral Service will follow in the Funeral Home’s Chapel. A private burial will take place in Portugal. Proof of full vaccination, along with government issued ID, are mandatory to attend indoor funeral services for those age 12 and older. Masks are required.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to Dr. Sinclair and the medical staff of floor 7F and of the Intensive Care Unit at the Ottawa Civic Hospital for the excellent care provided.

In memory of Amilcar, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated by his family.
