February 25, 1954 – August 6, 2025
With deep love and heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of Donnie Cameron MacMillan on August 6, 2025, at the age of 71. Donnie passed with the love of his life and best friend Brenda by his side after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Born in Ottawa, Ontario, Donnie’s life was marked by warmth, curiosity, and a laughter that could brighten any room.
Donnie was a devoted husband of Brenda and a proud father to Lindsay and Adam. As the eldest of four brothers — Stewart (Fats), Murray (Weasel) and Bruce (Booey) — he was a steady guide, a loyal friend, and often the source of the family’s most memorable jokes.
His passions were many: the crackle of a cherished record, the soulful sounds of jazz, lively games where his trivia skills shone, adventures of traveling to parts of Europe shared with close friends that brought joy and countless stories and being a dad.
Donnie’s love of a good joke — especially those that brought happiness to others — was part of his charm and spirit. Donnie will always be remembered for his soft voice, for the life he built, and for the way he lived it: with humour, kindness, music in his heart, and an unshakable love for family and friends. His presence was a gift, and his absence will be deeply felt by all who knew him.
Cremation has taken place and will rest at home. Donations can be made in memory of Don MacMillan to the Canadian Cancer Society.
