Dora Synenki Szymanski

March 16, 1924 - January 21, 2011

Peacefully, at the Ottawa General Hospital, after a lengthy struggle with Alzheimer's disease. Beloved wife of the late Gregory Szymanski, dear mother of Dianne Mykytiuk (Alex); Walter; and Stephen (Helen). Cherished grandmother of Donna Luckovitch (Brian), Christina Jackson (Darren), Dylan, Amanda, Anastasia and Christopher, and great-grandmother of Brandon, Matthew, Natasha, Ryan, Tyler and Garrett. She is survived as well by family members in Ukraine. Dora will be remembered for her great love of family, her faith in God and her zest for life. Panachyda will be held on Sunday, January 23rd, at 7 p.m. in McEvoy-Shields Funeral Home, 1411 Hunt Club Rd. at Albion Rd. Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, January 24th at 10 a.m. in Saint John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Shrine, 952 Green Valley Cres. Interment Pinecrest Cemetery. In memoriam donations to the Ukrainian Catholic Shrine or the Villa Marconi would be appreciated.
