Elfriede "Freda" Niklas

Loving Mom and best friend to Michelle (Dan) who she lived with for the past 8 years, along with her granddaughters Jodi and Kelly who she was a proud Oma to and cherished family time together. Predeceased by her loving husband, “Hajo” (Hans) of 37 years. Sister of Werner (Hannelore) and predeceased by her adored Mother (Emilie), 4 brothers, 1 sister, and her loved shih tzu/poodle Koda.

Freda was known for her kind heart, dancing, yodeling, and being a social butterfly. She had a passion for making beautiful flower and candle arrangements. Freda will be fondly remembered and missed by her family and friends.

A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday February 12, 2022, from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. at McEvoy-Shields Funeral Home & Chapel (1411 Hunt Club Rd. Ottawa, ON., K1V 1A6). Immediately following visitation, a memorial service will be held in the chapel. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, we ask that you please call the funeral home (613-737-7900) to reserve your spot to attend. NOTE: proof of double vaccination and government issued ID will be required upon entry to the funeral home.
