Hi Aunt Libby, We really miss and love you!!! <3 From your great niece Zia

I am a best friend of her great niece. I'm very sorry.

I was one of the lucky ones to be ernolled in Dr. Cahill's intro course in Political Science when I was a student at Marianopolis from 1973 to 1975. She was a brilliant lecturer and students not enrolled in her class used to line up in the hallway in the hopes of auditing one of her lecturers. She was refined of person and intellect and she was also  my curriculum advisor. I was initially enrolled in a Social Studies stream but ended up on her advice switching into a Literature and Languages stream and ended up on the Dean's List as well as tying for the prize in my area of studies with a fellow student. I learned so much from Dr. Cahill and she left an indelible impression. I wish her Godspeed.

The Marianopolis community is saddened by this news. As Libby was about to retire, I joined the college and got to know her as we shared an office for a little while.

Her contributions were highlighted by the creation of the Libby Cahill Book fund when she retired, still very much active today after 25 years of operation!

The knowledge that Dr. Cahill imparted to me in her political science classes at Marianopolis College is knowledge that I used every day in my forty-year career as a history teacher.  I thought of her often and I silently thanked her on a very regular basis.

My deepest condolences. I remember Libby as a caring and extremely intelligent colleague at Marianopolis College, very much appreciated by her students. I had many interesting interactions with her, and was sad when she left the College and we lost touch.

I’m very sorry to hear this sad news. Libby was one of my favourite teachers when I was a student at Marianopolis and it is due to her that I continued on to study Political Science in university. When I returned to work at the college, she became one of my favourite colleagues.

Nan, it is with deep sadness that I am writing this, as I remember how close you were with your sister. I remember Libbie bringing Reserve items to the Library and then the years after you drove to Ottawa to be with her. I hope you and your family can cherish the memories as you go through this tough time. All the best to you and your family. 

I offer my sincerest condolences to you Nan and to your entire family. I always admired Libby so much for her grace, beauty and intelligence. We shared the same wing at Marianopolis for so many years. Our offices were almost opposite each other's.  I know you will miss her very much, Nan.
