Born in Machgarah, Lebanon on September 18, 1922. Peacefully passed away at St. Patrick’s Home. She is predeceased by her husband Tanios Awad, and her beloved son Joseph Awad, her brothers , Loutfie Hajjar, Michel Hajjar, her sister Marie Khalil (Lebanon) and her son-in-law Rafic Abou Arraj. She is survived by her sisters, Evelyn Khalil (Lebanon) and Caroline Daoud, her brothers, Abdulah Hajjar and Sami Hajjar, her daughters Lodi, Souad (Francois Moubarak), Marcell (Arraj) and her sons John (Kathleen), Eli (Donna) and Naji. She will be sadly missed by her 21 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Eugenie was a true artist in hairstyling for most of her life both in Lebanon and in Canada. She passed this trade to many of her children and grandchildren. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of all the people who were blessed to meet her and experience her incredible kindness and her selfless and loving attitude. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 3-9 p.m. at McEvoy-Shields Funeral Home, 1411 Hunt Club Rd. at Albion Rd. Funeral Service on Wednesday at 10 a.m. in St. Charbel Church, 245 Donald Street. Interment at Pinecrest Cemetery.
