Reggie slipped away on a sunny June afternoon with family by her side, her love of life undiminished to the end. Left behind are daughter Deborah (Mitch Vlad), son Don (Deryl); grandkids Elliot (Tamara Bond), Sean (Helen Russo) and Alexander Vlad, Ryan and Brodie Moriarty; plus great grandkids Alexis, Victoria, Devin, Avery, Cameron and Teagan; cousin and good friend Mariana Bucur; and Blaze, her fiercely loyal rescue dog.
Heart-wrenching for all to lose such a generous, compassionate and loving friend. She herself knew loss, having been predeceased in 1988 by wonderful husband John who had served in the Royal Canadian Navy and National Defence, and in 1983 by elder daughter Patricia (Fling).
Reggie (who could not abide Gertrude), was the daughter of RCMP Sergeant Oscar Regimbald and Delisca Potvin of Sarsfield, Ontario. Typical of her generation, she was resilient and determined with uncompromising integrity.
She was a life-long care-giver, who with friend and business partner Sue Boudreau, established and successfully ran day care centres for 43 years.
We were so fortunate to have her in our life. She taught us all how to live and love. We now have the privilege of her walking into our memories where she will stay forever.
Visitation at McEvoy-Shields, 1411 Hunt Club July 2nd, from 6-8:30 pm. Funeral Mass Wednesday July 3rd, 11:30 am at Canadian Martyrs, 100 Main Street, followed by reception and interment at Notre Dame Cemetery.
In Reg’s honour, please consider donations to the ALS Society of Canada.
