Henri Boucher

A long-time resident of Virginiatown, Henri passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, at the age of 85, at the Civic Campus of the Ottawa Hospital on Wednesday, March 27, 2013. He is survived by: his wife Pauline Boucher, his six children Monique, Diane (Tom Alfoldi), René (Elaine Smith), Robert, Claude (Tracey Ross), Michel (Natalie Gravelle); 12 grandchildren: Kerri (Alain) Gervais, Crissy Charlton, Matthew (Ashley Sutherland) and Paula Boucher, Bronson and Andrea McDonald, Cory, Nicholas, Adam, Grace, Sophia, and Jack Boucher; 3 step-grandchildren: Ryan Smith, Jessica (Daniel Doty) Alfoldi, Lucy Butler; 3 great-grandchildren: Dalainey Gervais, Noah Gervais, Madison Charlton; and 3 step-great-grandchildren: Pyper Smith, Nora and Simon Doty. He is fondly remembered by: his sisters Georgette (Rosaire Chartrand predeceased) and Lucille (Donald Roy predeceased); brother-in-law Charles Chartrand; his inlaws Laurette Benoit, Marguerite Rivard, André and Cécile Gauthier, Jeannine Rivard, Madeleine Ménard, Lionel Dénommé, André and Lise Benoit; and by wonderful nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Henri was predeceased by his parents Félix and Célina (née Morin), 9 siblings: Julia (Hervé) Mailloux, Laurette (Charles) Secord, Marie-Rose (Fernand) Lamarche, Ronald Boucher, Jacqueline Gauthier, Jeanne Chartrand, Roger (Rachel) Boucher, Hervé (Marie) Boucher and Emilien Boucher; and his inlaws Joseph and Alberta Benoit, Armand Benoit, Raymond Rivard, Léo and Fernande Plante, Adolphe and Thérese Gauthier, Rosaire Rivard, Philippe Ménard, Gabrielle Dénommé, et Claire Benoit. Henri became a member of the Knights of Columbus McGarry-Larder council no. 6864 on November 20, 1976, and was Grand Knight from June 1979 to 1981; when he moved to New Liskeard, he joined the New Liskeard council no. 2013. He was a fun-loving, kind, and mischievous soul who enjoyed playing pranks on his family and friends. He always had a twinkle in his eye and was both quick with a joke and a smile. He instilled that love of life in his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A Memorial Mass in honour of Henri will be celebrated at Eglise Sacré Coeur in New Liskeard on Monday, April 1st (his favourite day of the year, April Fools' Day), 2013 at 11:00 a.m. Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation (P.O.
