Ida Thibault

It is with deep sadness that the family announces the passing of Mrs. Ida Thibault, who left us on January 31, 2026, at the age of 95. Beloved wife of the late Jean Albert Thibault and daughter of the late Maude and Alfred Gauthier.

Ida will be lovingly remembered by her children: Jeannette (Randy), Roger (Lisette), Diane (Jules), Richard (Tammy), Gisèle, Daniel (Erlita), Donald (Sharon), and Henri (Dina). She also leaves behind 15 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren, as well as her sisters Liliane and Cecil. She was predeceased by her brothers and sisters: Alice, Beatrice, Eddy, Alcide, Irene, Bernadette, Florence, Amanda, Therese and Hector.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to Racine, Robert & Gauthier Funeral Home and to the dedicated staff at Centre d’accueil Champlain for their exceptional care and compassion.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on April 17, 2026, beginning at 9:00 a.m., followed by a Celebration of Life from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Racine, Robert & Gauthier Funeral Home, 180 Montreal Road, Ottawa, ON, K1L 1B4. Interment will take place the same day at Notre Dame d’Ottawa Cemetery, 455 Montreal Road, Ottawa, ON, K1K 0V3. A reception will follow from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
