Irene was the cherished wife of Steve (deceased 2010) and beloved mother of Lynne (Bob), Sharon (Kevin), Connie (Joe), Lori (Gary), Debbie (Nick) and Kim (Jeff). She was the most wonderful Gramma to Andrea, Marc, Paul, Jessica, Stephen, Sean, Cara, Cate, Alison, Rachel, David, Matthew, Ian and Meg. She was an enthusiastic great grandmother to Mayah, Anikah, Mabel, Jayson, Jordyn, Appoline, Madeline and Elliott. She was a strong, gentle and kind woman who taught us the importance of faith, humility, family and fun. We will miss her so very much. We wish to thank her long-time caregiver and friend, Sandy Glean, for her many years of care and attention, which made such a difference in her life. She spent many happy years at New Edinburgh Square Retirement Residence and more recently she settled in at Garry Armstrong Long Term Care Facility where she received excellent care from their attentive and thoughtful staff. A mass at Assumption Church at 320 Olmstead St. in Vanier will be held at 9am on Saturday, Nov. 28th. Donations to the Alzheimer’s Society would be appreciated.
