It is with deep sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of John Nelson, after a brief illness. John was born on July 28, 1963 and found peace on August 28, 2023. He touched many lives in ways that were often taken for granted. John is predeceased by his father Gerard Nelson. He is survived by his mother Margot, his brothers Kevin (Ann) and Michael (Cherrie) as well as his sisters Elizabeth Carlyle (David) and Moira O’Quinn. John also leaves behind aunts, cousins, nephews, nieces and many friends.
Family and friends may pay respects at the McEvoy-Shields Funeral Home and Chapel, 1411 Hunt Club Road on Tuesday, September 5, 2023 from 6:00 pm to 9:00 p.m. A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, September 7, 2023 at 11 am, in the chapel at McEvoy-Shields Funeral Home, followed by interment at Hope Cemetery, 4660 Bank Street, Ottawa, ON
