Kenneth Stanley

June 8, 1925 - September 20, 2014

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Ken Stanley (Uncle Ken) after living a long and full life. Devoted husband of the late Helen Marie Stanley (Shoniker). Beloved father of Gayle (Stanley) of Manotick, Lynn (Andrew Reynolds) of Manotick, and Joanie (Saj Maqsood) of Austin, Texas. Beloved grandfather of Yasmin (Daniel Wilkinson), Sabrina (Corey Joy), and Katie (Day) of Santa Fe, Texas. Beloved great grandfather of Paisley (Day), and Cameron Kenna (Joy). Son of the late Earl and Agnes Stanley. Dear brother of Joyce (late Maynard Cherry), Arthur (Ruth), Phyllis (late Keith Mitchell) and Ruby; also predeceased by Howard (late Annalea), Donald (Vera) and Willis. He will be missed by his nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and friends. Ken was born and raised on the farm and always loved his time there. Ken, the trees have been tapped and the maple syrup is bottled, so now you can rest. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at McEvoy-Shields Funeral Home and Chapel, 1411 Hunt Club Road, Ottawa on Monday, September 22nd from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. Funeral services to remember and celebrate Ken’s life in the Chapel at 12 o'clock. Interment at the North Russell Cemetery following services. Reception at Stanley’s Olde Maple Farm, Edwards after interment.
