Passed away peacefully at Forest Valley Terrace on January 16, 2020 at the age of 81years. Beloved husband of the late Sandra Monette (nee Tokar, deceased March 24, 2015). Loving father of Douglas Monette (Melissa Harris) and the late Jason Monette. Dear baby brother of the late Dorothy Newton. Brother-in-law of the late John Tokar (Maureen). He will be sadly missed by his nieces and nephews; Theresa Hamel, Sue Hamel (Rodney), Julie Hill-Tucker (Steven), John Paul Tucker (Irene), and David B. Tucker, and good friends Marty (cousin to Sandra) and his wife Helen. Many thanks to John, Maureen, Theresa, and Sue who ensured that Mike’s last years were lived to the fullest, and to the staff at Forest Valley Terrace who made him feel at home. The family will receive relatives and friends at McEvoy Shields Funeral Home, 1411 Hunt Club Road (at Albion Road) on Saturday, February 1, 2020 for visitation after 9 am followed by a Funeral Service at 10 am in the Chapel. Interment at Hope Cemetery. A reception will follow the burial at McEvoy-Shields Funeral Home.
