Monique Johanne Day Massie

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Monique Massie Day (née Vendette) on March 11, 2024 at the age of 64. She was the daughter of the late Rolland Vendette and of the late Denise Vendette (née Saumur). She was the beloved wife of Danny Massie and the loving mother of Veronique Day.

She leaves in sorrow her brothers Luc (Sylvie) and Michel as well as her nieces and nephews: Melanie (Eric), Stephanie (Jonathan), Mylène, Carina, Shae, Troy and Zachary. She will be missed by her brothers-in-law: Joey (Rita), Tommy (Brenda), Jay (Chantal) and Timmy as well as her great-nephews and nieces: Trinity, Avery, Phoenix, Sage, Xander, Xara, Bobby and Johnny.

Monique also leaves behind dear friends: Danielle, Karen, Debbie, Marcus, Caroline, Judy, Rob, Sue, Dan, Doris, Carlos, Lynne, Jeff, multiple friends, acquaintances and work colleagues from the National Research Council of Canada and countless more.

The Day and Massie families would like to thank the Oncology Department at the Ottawa General Hospital and the Vascular Unit at the Civic Hospital for all their hard work by Monique’s side.

A Celebration of Life will be held in Monique’s honor at Racine, Robert & Gauthier Funeral Home (180 Montreal Road, Ottawa, Ontario K1L 1B4) on Saturday April 6, 2024 at 1PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations to the charity of your choice be made in Monique’s name.
