Elle fut prédécédée par son cher et tendre époux, Roger Trudel (63 ans de mariage).

Elle laisse pour pleurer sa perte ses 6 enfants : Paul (Diane Lemieux), Madeleine (Dennis Smith), Robert (Donna Adams), Lorraine, François (Kellie Bloskie) et Julie (Richard Goulet).

Elle laisse aussi ses 10 petits enfants : Alain et Sylvie Trudel; Robin (Kayla Monoghan), Stéphanie et Matthew Smith; Véronique Trudel (François Langlois); Kyle (Stephanie Boileau) et Luc Trudel (Carolyn Putin); Éric et Nicholas Goulet et ses 4 arrière-petits-enfants : Lincoln, Nolan et Cohen Smith; Jack Trudel. Elle rejoint son petit-fils Dominique Trudel et son arrière-petite-fille Taylor Monoghan Smith.

Elle laisse également une belle-sœur, Thelma Fogarty ainsi que plusieurs nièces et neveux.

Elle fut prédécédée par son frère John James et ses sœurs et leurs conjoints : Marguerite (Carl McEvoy), Monique (Robert Rochefort), Rita (Lionel Gohier) et ses beaux-frères et belles-sœurs : Hubert Trudel (Lorette Malone) et Claire Trudel (Léo Doucet) ainsi que ses demi-frères, Lawrence et Frank (Blanche Rioux) et ses demi-sœurs, Eva Sabourin et Violet Wright.

Sa vie aura été marquée d’une carrière de 36 ans dans le domaine de l’éducation : elle a œuvré auprès de trois conseils scolaires de la région d’Ottawa, soit, le Conseil scolaire catholique anglophone, le Conseil scolaire catholique francophone, le Conseil scolaire public anglophone ainsi que pour la Télévision éducative. Elle fut membre fondatrice de l’Association canadienne des professionnels de l’immersion (ACPI) ainsi que Présidente nationale en 1980-81 et aussi membre active du District 27 Ottawa-Carleton des Enseignants Retraités de l’Ontario. En 2017, elle a reçu le prix commémoratif June Szeman décerné en reconnaissance de l’excellent leadership et du dévouement envers les objectifs du district 27 de ERO. Elle a été à l’origine de plusieurs projets de bienfaisance : construction d’un centre communautaire en Haïti, levée de fonds au Centre des ainés Guigues, organisation de bazars au profit d’Opération Sourire, levée de fonds à sa résidence Riverpath pour les efforts de la Croix Rouge canadienne en Ukraine.

La famille tient à remercier le personnel de la Communauté de retraite Riverpath pour leur attention et bons soins.

La famille recevra parents et amis à la Maison Funéraire Racine, Robert et Gauthier Beauchamp, 180 chemin Montréal, Ottawa, Ontario le jeudi 15 août de 14h00 à 16h00 et de 19h00 à 21h00. Passed away peacefully on August 6, 2024, at the age of 95 years. Predeceased by her parents John Fogarty and Éliane Labelle.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 63 years, Roger Trudel.

She leaves to mourn her 6 children: Paul (Diane Lemieux), Madeleine (Dennis Smith), Robert (Donna Adams), Lorraine, François (Kellie Bloskie) and Julie (Richard Goulet).

She also leaves her 10 grand-children: Alain and Sylvie Trudel; Robin (Kayla Monoghan), Stéphanie and Matthew Smith; Véronique Trudel (François Langlois); Kyle (Stephanie Boileau) and Luc Trudel (Carolyn Putin), Éric and Nicholas Goulet. She joins her grand-son Dominique Trudel and her great-grand-daughter Taylor Monoghan Smith.

She also leaves her sister-in-law, Thelma Fogarty as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her brother John James and her sisters and their spouses: Marguerite (Carl McEvoy), Monique (Robert Rochefort), Rita (Lionel Gohier) and her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Hubert Trudel (Lorette Malone) and Claire Trudel (Léo Doucet) as well as her half- brothers, Lawrence and Frank (Blanche Rioux) and half-sisters, Eva Sabourin and Violet Wright.

Her life was highlighted by a 36-year career in education: she worked with three school boards in the Ottawa region, namely the English Catholic School Board, the French Catholic School Board, the Ottawa Public Board of Education and for Educational Television. She was a founding member of the Canadian Association of Immersion Professionals (ACPI) and National President in 1980-81 as well as active member of Retired Teachers of Ontario District 27 Ottawa-Carleton. In 2017, she received the June Szeman Memorial Award in recognition for excellent leadership and dedication to the goals of RTO District 27. She was the guiding force behind many goodwill and charitable projects such as building a community center in Haiti, fundraising as a dedicated volunteer at the Guigues Seniors Center, organization of bazaars for the benefit of Operation Smile, fundraising at her retirement home Riverpath for the Canadian Red Cross to assist in Ukraine.
