

Dr. Pierre C. Tremblay, MD, son of Antonio and Adine Tremblay of Ottawa, and brother of Suzanne, passed away suddenly at the Montreal Sacre Coeur Hospital on Tuesday, May 15, 2012. He is survived by his loving and caring wife Souad, his sons Marc and Pierre, his daughter-in-law Nicole and grandchildren Antoine and Émilie.
Dr. Tremblay was an outstanding obstetrician and gynaecologist who delivered over 10,000 babies in his illustrious career. He made fundamental contributions to medical research at McGill University, Montreal, and distinguished himself by winning the prestigious Foundation Prize of the American Gynecological and Obstetrical Society in 1964 for his seminal paper on the Role of the Placenta in Fetal Malnutrition. For several years, he demonstrated his academic skills in the position of Dean of Medicine at the University of Sherbrooke, Quebec, before returning to family practice in Ottawa.
Pierre loved music, history, language and all things cultural. He will forever live in the hearts of those who knew him and will be missed by all who had the fortune of benefiting from his knowledge, wisdom, warmth, and humanity.

Pierre's final resting place will in Ottawa, Ontario and the burial arrangements are in the hands of the Racine, Robert, & Gauthier Funeral Home. A celebration of Pierre's life will be held at a later date.
