I am a former classmate of Richard’s at Algonquin college.  I am so sorry to hear of Richard’s passing. 
There was lots of good with Richard. Among the many memories, I enjoyed his Spanish guitar stylings, his introducing me to Bruce Springsteen’s Born to Run album and driving to and from Ray and Jill Howe’s wedding and on the return trip, Rick insisting that we stop in Williamsburg to visit a memorial for one of my ancestors. 

I am sorry to have heard this. My Condolences to Stephan and the rest of Rick's family. 

I have one memory of Rick, when we were much younger, sitting on the stoop his Winther home, reading Johnny Hart's BC comic book, in particular, the clam sketch, and laughing so hard.

To our sadness we never got to meet Richard personally, but on the phone and in his and your emails he sounded a real nice guy.  Gloria - our sincere condolences - we know how much you are going to miss him.  Our thoughts and our love are with you. xxxx Janice & Roy (UK).

So very sorry to hear this sad news, he is sadly missed by the Thursday night gang at McThirstys pub in Peterborough. Great guy

I enjoyed working with Richard at Labotix.  He was a joy to engage in conversation with.

A descent man, with a great love of the culinary arts.  Many good bus trips from Hurdman station, in Ottawa, filled with stories of restaurant and various eatery establishments around the world where his early assignments took him.
A good soul, will be missed very much.

My condolences to Gloria and Richard's family. I only worked with Richard for around 6 months but he made many friends in our office. He was a joy to work with and was always willing to share his considerable knowledge. I will miss his wit, his smile and his infectious laugh. He will be missed by many.

Richard (Rick) was my older brother. He was a happy and cheerful guy whereas I was always rather glum and morose. No problem for Rick, he just took me as I was, and I shall miss that the most. My deepest sympathies to Gloria. They were together for over thirty years and Rick always seemed at his happiest when he was speaking either to her or about her. He was a joyful guy and I will miss that.
