Robert Bob Arthur Barre (Barry)

Peacefully, in Cobden, surrounded by his family on Monday, September 26, 2011 at the age of 99 years two months shy of his 100th birthday. Beloved husband of the late Laurette Pelletier. Loving father of Richard (Barbara) of Cobden, Paul (Marie) of Saint Lazarre, Quebec and Lynn McNulty (Richard) of Cantley, Quebec. Predeceased by his sons Bobby, Jack and Gerry (the late Jeannette) and his daughters Joan Cameron (the late Maurice) and Frances Paquette (Andy) also predeceased by his parents Louis Napolion Barre and Gertrude Waters and his sisters, Laurette, Thérèse, Alice and Corrine. He is survived by his 23 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. He will be fondly remembered by his companion Verna Szilasyi and her family, and his many friends. The family will receive friends at McEvoy-Shields Funeral Home, 1411 Hunt Club Road (at Albion Road) on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. Funeral Mass on Friday at 11 am at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, followed by burial at Notre Dame Cemetery. A heartfelt thank you to his nurse Kim Solly from the CCAC and Dr. Guy Genier for their dedication and care shown to Bob and his family in the final days of his life.
