2TRD was the most devoted man ever, to his family and those by extension.  He loved to joke and tease but he also always made sure you were looked after and that he provided treats YOU liked when you visited.  Stephen and I often were at our 2nd home, as we saw it, and always made welcome. He kindly stored "things" for us when we were out of country for years and only ever demanded a bottle for payment!!  There were threats of using our booze supply we left in his care but it never was touched.  He just helped out wherever he could.  
He adored my sister from the day he met her and was the best husband and friend ever to her.  He was a huge support and friend to Holly and Michael and was delighted with Teresa as an addition to his tight little family.  He provided well always for them all and never fussed about anything..he would give you the shirt off his back if he thought you needed it more than he did.
He was fun, a great cook and loved to BBQ and to tease and be teased about it- and Bear's is a tad bigger Bob!! and the lobster stories!!! He had loyal friends everywhere he went because he was loyal and true to everyone.  Our Dad looked on him as his own son but especially as a very good and special friend.  

I could go on and on but suffice is to say he has left us all with a huge hole that can never be filled. He was my dear dear brother and I miss his dreadfully.

In our friends we see those qualities that inspire us to be better people.Among the qualities I most admired in Bob were his courage, business sense and his sense of humour.
We shared many experiences: scared and cold in the Adlantic ocean facing a huricane, diccussing how to survive financially as the tech bubble collapsed or traveling Ottawa in a huge white cadilac [two short white haired business types barely able to see out the windows - we mut have looked hilarious]

Friendship is never weakened by time or distance.  Bob's passing has left a sadness within me but the shared memories from those years in Saint John can still make me smile.  Bob was able to find humour in most situations and was always  there to lend a hand.  I still remember vividly the evening Lynn was about to put his supper on the table while entertaining her parents, I stuck my head in the door and said to Bob it was time to step the mast.  With that we were gone.  Never did find out what happened when he got back home.  He was a muched loved member of the "grey watch" and shall be missed.  My prayers go out to Lynn, Holly and Micheal

I didn't know your dad, but if there's any of him in you, then he must have been a wonderful human being. It has been a tough week for Bob's friends and neighbours at Metcalfe Realty.  Everyone misses Bob.  Our office is next door to Business Environments Furniture on the second floor of the Varette Building and we think of him every time we walk down the hallway.  Bob has had thousands of hallway conversations with Metcalfe employees over the years.  His outgoing and friendly nature endeared him to them all.  He talked about his family and asked about your family.  He always proudly reported the details of his annual trip to visit his brothers down east.

I leased Bob his offices 25 years ago.  We had an ongoing joke over the years where if one of us saw the other arriving on the floor and going to his office any time after 1:30 p.m. then the other would remark "Well that was certainly a long lunch" or if one saw the other leaving the office and it was after 3:00 p.m. then the other would remark "Are you going home early again? I am going to have to tell your boss!"  Since we were both conscientious people with strong work ethics these teasing remarks always drew out a response such as "No, I was already back from lunch and I am now returning from an appointment" or "I am going to an appointment and I will be back before 5:00 p.m."  Even when we had business negotiations whether it was his office lease or dickering over the price of furniture, Bob always had a way of charming you and disarming you.  I will miss the fun.

I imagine you have heard so many stories about Bob's generosity & his relentless interests .We were one of many people fortunate to know Bob.He spoke of his family with much love & devotion. We always enjoyed Bob's company when we would travel to Ottawa and connect with him for a pint in the local pubs there. He sure was a very popular guy.
He told us he had family in Vancouver where we live and was looking forward to a visit and we of course were looking forward to connecting with him as well.

It is with such fond memories I have of the Schnare family.  Robert's Mom and Dad were the best.  My family operated The Cove a General Store in Birch Cove and the Schnare's were regular customers and more so great members of the community.
My sister Pat Whtman as a child and teenager enjoyed sharing childhood years with the Schnare boys.  Like their parents they were a huge part of Birch Cove
Just to let you know Harold and Irene Swindells will remember the family in our prayers but I have no hesitation in suggesting that God arleady has Robert in heaven.
