Ronald Richard Comeau

11 noviembre , 19583 abril , 2021

It is with great sadness in our hearts that we announce the passing of Ronald Comeau on Saturday, April 3, 2021.

Beloved husband of Alice (née Kyale) and loving father of Malaika, his loss is a deep sorrow. He will also be deeply missed by his brothers and sisters Michelle (Stefan), Lisette (James), Monique (Serge), Joël and Jean-Louis, his nephew and nieces Emma, Justin, Lily and Isabelle and his extended family in Kenya.

Ron was a quiet and private person who never lost his boyhood curiosity and joy for learning about the world and how everything worked. Never boastful or judgmental, he was kind, good natured and accepting. He shared his remarkable knowledge willingly…to anyone who asked. Raised in a large and loving family, he knew how to share and how to laugh and how not to take things too seriously. His humour and caring nature were endearing and highlighted with the arrival of his daughter Malaika. She brought out the best in him. He will be fondly remembered by us all.

Ron had a very long and fulfilling career in the public service – over 40 years. His work gave him purpose and he had to be convinced to retire. He joined Public Works at a very young age and worked at the Experimental Farm on older buildings with dated mechanical and electrical systems – his passion. He loved being hands on. Before long he was assigned to the Museum of Civilization during its construction as new automated building systems were being implemented. His work on the old heritage buildings on Sparks Street rekindled his interest in how things work. His career shifted when he joined the Department of Foreign Affairs (2000). His work took him across the ocean to Africa, where, as regional officer, he worked on projects in over thirty-five diplomatic missions. He embraced this new adventure and crossed the ocean over 30 times as he travelled the continent discovering new places, new cultures and meeting new people. Ron fell in love with Africa and he fell in love with Alice, his beautiful wife from Kenya. Together they lived in Dubai for several years where Ron was posted. Ron recently retired from Global Affairs Canada after his long career as a public servant. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, a private family service will be held. In lieu of flowers, kindly consider a donation in Ron’s memory to the Bruyère Foundation or a charity of your choice. Condolences and sharing memories can be left at

To Daddio,

It's hard for me to see tomorrow now that you have left.
You left without any goodbyes or " See you later allegator".
Rather you left with plans on what to do for Summertime together.

I just want you to know, I love you and I will always be thinking about you.
I will look for you in the clouds when we are having picnics or during camping when I look up at the skies.
Just know I'm grateful that you are my Daddio.

I love you and I already miss you,

To the Comeau Family,
Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time, especially so soon after the passing of your Mom. May loving memories bring you peace, comfort and strength.
The funeral service was a nice tribute to Ronald. The song choices were amazing.
Hugs from your cousin Rachel and and my seven sisters (Annette & Norbert's family).

I am mother to Alice and mother in law to Ronald and grand mother to Malaika.
It was with great pain and sadness that we learned about the death of our beloved son in law, Ronald.
My husband Charles Kyaleh, I and the entire Kyaleh's family and friends in Kenya send our condolences to Comeau's family in Canada.
We, all the berieved families can find comfort in the words of the Bible book of Acts 24:15 which assures us that: "I have hope toward God,......that there is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous"
This is a sure hope and we look forward to see our loved one, Ronald during the resurrection of the dead.
