Sibylle Jeanette Crawford

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Sibylle Crawford (nee Hallam), at the age of 92 of Ottawa, Ontario. Sibylle was born in Regina, SK on January 1st, 1933 to Maurice and Mary Hallam deceased.

Sib, one of ten children. travelled with her family during the depression to finally settle in Victoria, BC. It was there where she met the love of her life David, and they spent 60 years together.

Sibylle, who will be greatly missed, is survived by her sons Rick (Norma), Tenneycape, NS, Brant (Linda) Ottawa, ON, and Kevin (Heather), Ottawa, ON. She was a dear grandmother to Duncan (Karla), Covehead, PEI, Erin (Kevin), Truro, NS, Connor, Emma (Denis), Andree (Josh), Nicole (Garrett), and Danielle (Pier) all of Ottawa, ON. Great grandchildren Joseph, Keegan, Avery, William, Samual, Leo, Morgan, Scott, and newly arrived Eloise. Sibylle was a cherished sister to her remaining brothers Frank Hallam (Jeannie), Victoria, BC and Trevor Hallam, Courtney, BC. She will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews.

Sibylle was a military wife which meant she was an organizer, planner, nurturer, caregiver, career builder and most importantly a truly loving mother. She travelled throughout the world supporting her husband, and making friends wherever they were posted.

She had been an active member of the Order of the Eastern Star for 50 years serving in many offices including as Worthy Matron in both Ottawa, ON and Nanaimo, BC.

The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to D. Joseph Isaiah, his colleagues and staff of the Orleans Family Clinic for the wonderful care and compassion they have extended towards our mother over the past several years.

A private celebration will be held for family in the near future. Interment will take place in Tenneycape, NS overlooking the Bay of Fundy. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
