Stella Murphy

Peacefully, on November 6th, 2013, surrounded by family members. Beloved wife of 68 years of the late Patrick Leonard Murphy (see obituary below). Cherished daughter of the late Dennis Ryan and the late Mary Gahagan. Dear sister of Nora (Earl Somers). Pre-deceased by her sisters Margaret (Patrick Maloney) and Carmel, and her brothers Frank, George, Philip and Patrick (the late Nora Burke and the late Kaye Anderson). Survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Friends and family may pay their respects at McEvoy-Shields Funeral Home 1411 Hunt Club Rd. at Albion Rd. on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A combined Funeral Mass for Stella and Patrick Murphy will be celebrated on Friday, November 15th , 2013, at Blessed Sacrament Church, 194 Fourth Avenue, Ottawa, Ontario at 11:00 AM, followed by a reception in the parish hall. Interment at St.Rose de Lima Cemetery in Gatineau will take place after the reception. A sincere thank you to the caring staff of The Ottawa Hospital (General Campus), and to Dr. Brian Dick and his staff members June and Geeva. In lieu of flowers, donations to The Ottawa Mission or the Canadian National Institute for the Blind (C.N.I.B) would be greatly appreciated.
