Taimi McGill

19 August 1922 – 29 January 2017

Peacefully at home, on Sunday January 29 2017, at the age of 94, Taimi passed away. She will be missed by her loving daughter Anita,(Ken), grandchildren Paige and Christopher and great grandchildren Madison and Owen. Predeceased by devoted husband Stanley McGill, brothers Reino, George, sister Lilli and parents Antoine and Alma Hovi. Private funeral service will take place Thursday 2nd February at McEvoy-Shields 1411 Hunt Club Road, Ottawa, ON K1V 1A6 | 613-737-7900. Taimi grew up on a farm outside Cochrane Ontario and worked with her sister Lilli as a cook in several lumber camps around Northern Ontario after being discharged from the army,CWAC, as an Ambulance driver at the end of WW2. From there she lived in Regan, Thunder Bay, Alexandria, and finally Ottawa Ontario, loving and caring for her husband, daughter, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Words cannot express the deep gratitude we all have for such a wonderfully kind person guiding us through life.
