Loving sister to Arvind (Ranjan), Pravin (Purnima), Deepak and the late Dhanvant (Ananta). Devoted daughter to the late Himatlal and Parsonben Shah. She will be deeply missed by her loving brother-in-law Dilip (Madhu) and many nieces and nephews . Urmila earned her medical degree and specialization in obstetrics and gynecology in Mumbai India before moving to Canada where she received her MSc from the University of Ottawa. She went on to a long distinguished career in the public service at Health & Welfare Canada, while at the same time succeeding in raising her family. Her deep-rooted faith in God and her respect for her community guided her to numerous charitable deeds and acts of service to society. Her good nature and humility brought joy to all around her and will be sadly missed by her many relatives and friends. The Desai family would like to thank all those who have offered their support and comfort, and would also like to thank the staff of the Queensway Carleton Hospital for their kindness and understanding in our time of grief.
