Velma initially trained as a Nurse at the Ottawa Civic Hospital. She and Gerald were married shortly thereafter and, from that day, ten children were in the plan. Five boys and five girls meant a busy life was in store.
Together, Velma and Gerald owned and operated several Dairy Queen Franchises. At the age of 61, Velma started a successful seventeen-year career as a Real Estate Agent with Royal Lepage.
Velma had a gift for writing poetry, a love for the game of golf, enjoyed the adventure of travel, and a “little piece of heaven” each winter at Fort Myers Beach.
Our thanks to the 2nd-floor staff at the “Duke” for many years of care.
In celebration of Velma’s life, a private family service will be held.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
In lieu of donations, please consider an act of kindness for someone in need.
