Walid El Hage-Elias

It is with great sadness and sorrow that we announce the passing of Walid El Hage-Elias at the age of 76.

Beloved husband of Joan (Shaheen).

Predeceased by his parents Georges (Kirkish) El Hage-Elias and Nassima Gebara.

Loving and devoted father of Christina (Jean EL-Ghazal), Omar, Danny (Megan O’Brien) and Chanelle (Julien Bellemare).

Cherished and loving grandfather of Nathan, Elissa, Jonathan, Peter, Amelia and Gabriel.

Much loved brother of Amal (Loutfi Raffoul), Nehme (Josette Riachi), Bishara (Hala Gebara), Wissam (Mona Halal), all of Ottawa and Najwa (John Baltayan) of Lebanon.

Loving uncle of Ayoub (Mireille) and Rabih (Joelle) Raffoul; George (Dayala), Natalie, Eli, Joelle, Sammy, Jad, Richard and Robert Elias.

Dear brother-in-law of Gail Hubert, Elaine (Kirk), Richard Shaheen and Ronny Shaheen (Zenaida).

He will be dearly missed by his many cousins, friends and extended family in the United States, Lebanon, France, Germany and Brazil.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, August 10, 2023 from 6:00 to 9:00 pm at their home, 2988 Innes Road and on Friday, August 11, 2023 between 10:00 and 11:00 am at Sts. Peter and Paul Greek Melkite Catholic Church, 1161 North River Road, Ottawa., followed by funeral service.

Interment on Saturday, August 12, 2023 at 2:00pm at Hope Cemetery, 4660 Bank Street.

In lieu of flowers and for those wishing, in memoriam donations to Sts. Peter and Paul Church or The Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
