Wasfi Ghassa

He was the devoted and hardworking father of George (Nour), Remon (Fedaa), Roumenda (Elias Naddour), and Rana (Samer Agie). A cherished grandfather, he leaves behind Reem (Khalil Dawod), Mais, Shaza, Fadi, Roy, Joud, George, and Julian Ghassa; Adonis and Natalie Naddour; and Elissa, George, and Juliana Agie.

He will be dearly missed by his extended family in Canada, Syria, and around the world. Known for his unwavering work ethic and selfless dedication to his family, he built a life grounded in love, humour, and resilience. He had a unique gift for lighting up every room he entered and bringing joy to those around him.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, October 11th, 2025, beginning at 9:30 a.m. at St. Elias Antiochian Orthodox Cathedral, 2975 Riverside Drive, Ottawa. The funeral service will follow at 10:30 a.m.

Interment will take place at Capital Memorial Gardens, 3700 Prince of Wales Drive.

The family will receive condolences on Sunday, Oct 12 at from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at St Elias Cathedral basement.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory to St. Elias Cathedral would be deeply appreciated.
