Wilfrid Sam Joseph Samson

Passed away on June 14, 2017 at Laurier Manor at the age of 66. Son of the late Rosina (nee Lalonde), the late Lucien Samson and step-father Laurent Rivet. Loving brother of Louise (Albert Trudel ), Andre and step brother of John Way. Cherished uncle of Tammy Samson, Bob Samson, Andre Trudel and Micheal Trudel. He also leaves many cousins and friends. Wilfrid was predeceased by two brothers: Rhéal (Jeannette Cronier) and Georges.

The family would like to thank the caregivers and staff at the Laurier Manor as well as the personnel at Rothwell Heights Retirement Home for all the wonderful care they provided. Wilfrid made many friends during his time at Laurier Manor and Rothwell Heights Retirement Home. The family sincerely thanks all those friends and family that offered their kindness during his final day. They would also like to recognize the staff at Racine, Robert & Gauthier Funeral Home for the help they offered during this difficult time that eased the family’s burden.

A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday June 21, 2017 at 1 p.m. at Racine, Robert & Gauthier Funeral Home Chapel (180 Montreal Road, Ottawa). The family will receive condolences from 12:30 p.m. A burial will follow at Notre-Dame Cemetery, 455 Montreal Road, Ottawa. In Memory of Mr. Samson, donations to the Heart and Strokes Foundation would be appreciated.

Everyone that had the pleasure and honor of knowing Sam could say that he had a kind heart, was a joker and would always try to make you smile. He had a love of Elvis which was well known by all those he knew.

All that’s left to say is… “the King has left the building.”
