Addie Mae Carson

Addie Mae Carson (Tootie) left her earthly bonds and went to be with the Lord on June 21st, 2021 after 97 plus years of service to those she loved. She was born on January 17th, 1924 in Travis County, Texas to L.J. and Mollie Livergood.

After highschool she moved to California, where she met and married Ernie Homen. Their marriage produced four children: twin daughters; Marlene and Darlene, daughter Gretchen, and son Eugene (Buck). The dissolution of that marriage was later followed by marriage to William (Bill) Carson; and his three children Alice, Billie and Robert.

After several moves around the oil fields of California the family settled in El Rio, California where they welcomed their own son, Michael Carson. Tootie stayed home to see the youngest through highschool while Bill made a multitude of trips to work on many foreign offshore oil drilling platforms. Tootie joined Bill on several of his later shore destinations, including travel to Italy, Scotland, and South Africa.

Preceding her death: her parents, sisters; Edith, Eunice, and Rene. Husband Bill and children: Eugene (Buck), Michael, Gretchen, Robert and (William) Billy.

Tootie was delighted in her role of mother and homemaker as well as caretaker of husband Bill and sister Rene during their medical issues. She loved her many flowers, plants, and fruit trees. She also enjoyed and watching the wild birds in her back yard. She also loved her many dogs that provided her companionship through the years.

Tootie is survived by daughters; Marlene and husband Ray Gilbert, Darlene and husband Bernie Conway, Alice Carson Simmonds, daughters-in-law’s; Jaylene Carson and Judy Carson. Grandchildren: Garet Romo and family, Toby Harrison, Lisa Simmonds Blayney and family, Laura Terrazas and family, Heather Pierce and family, Sheree Carson and family, Susan Carson and family, Samantha Carson and family, Donna Carson-Maloy and family, Nicole Carson-Doss and family, Bobby (Robert) Carson and family, Jamie Ortiz and husband Mike, Natalie Jones and husband Jason, Melissa Beisel and husband Bobby, Michael Carson and wife Olivia. Great Grandchildren: Kody Beisel, Kolten Beisel, Brayden Jones, Mikayla Beisel, Spencer Jones, and Carson Ortiz. Great Great Grandchild Braxten Beisel.
