Elvira Rodriguez Puente

Elvira "Vera" Puente, born February 16, 1930 in Pomona, CA, entered into rest on September 17, 2016. She was a resident of Camarillo, CA for over 60 years.

After growing up in La Verne, CA, she moved to Camarillo with her husband. She devoted her life to raising her family, cooking, and was a dedicated fan of the Dodgers and Rams.

She is preceded in death by her husband Salvador "Chito" Puente, daughter Virginia Romero, son-in-law Rudy Romero, and parents Juana and Carlos Rodriguez. As the youngest daughter of 9 children, she is survived by her son Benny Puente (Jeanne), brothers Raul Rodriguez (Rebecca) and Richard Valiente (Yolanda). Grandchildren Katie Lynch (Donny), Denise Romero, Desiree Wilby (Jeff), Bryan Puente, and Deanna Romero. Great-grandchildren Anthony Romero, Skyler Wilby, Parker Lynch, Kasen Lynch, Laura Lynch, Ethan Wilby, and Aiden Rodriguez.

Viewing will be held on Thursday, September 22 from 6:00p-7:00p with Rosary recited at 7:00p at Funeraria del Angel, 401 W. Channel Islands Blvd. in Oxnard. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary Magdalene Church, 25 Las Posas Rd in Camarillo on Friday, September 23 at 1:00p. Burial to follow at Santa Clara Cemetery.
