Oxnard - January 26, 1939 - December 18, 2021
There are people who come into our lives for a season, a reason or a lifetime and then there are those who leave footprints on our heart forever. It is with a heavy heart and those footprints Bob left behind, that I write this.
Robert M. Hearn (Bob) died at Coastal View Healthcare Center on December 18, 2021. Bob was born to Margaret Luther and Robert G. Hearn in Las Vegas, New Mexico, on January 26, 1939. He attended high school at Nordhoff High in Ojai and earned a bachelor's degree from San Fernando State.
Bob was a security guard by profession and he was a talented musician playing guitar and keyboard, an extraordinarily gifted artist and a published author. He authored "Conversation With A Computer Concerning Telepathy," which was recently published in 2019. He loved all things created by "Apple" computers and he was a forever student of many things, including math, history, metaphysics, art and the after-life. Many conversations were had regarding what would happen to him and to us all in the end. I would always reassure him that his angels were all around him and he could talk to them and they would help him in the difficult times and any time he called upon them. He never said too much about this, but the day before he passed when he could no longer open his eyes and I reminded him about his angels, he smiled. He was the kindest man you could ever meet and even as he endured much physical suffering the last several years of his life, not once did a conversation end without him asking how you were and/or how your family was doing. It was a privilege to have known him and to have been his friend. I learned much from him and will be forever grateful.
Bob was predeceased by his parents, Robert G. Hearn and Margaret Luther. He is remembered by many friends including Lynn Smiley and Sandra Williams.
Deepest gratitude goes to Dr. Bruce Woodling and his assistant, Tonja Balden, who went above and beyond what was expected to make life better for Bob. Tonja was always available with the most beautiful caring attitude. Also much appreciation to Coastal View Health Care Center in Ventura and all the wonderful staff who were so kind to Bob. Especially, Victoria, Debbie, Aerial and all the wonderful angels who work there and helped to make Bob's life a little brighter on a daily basis amidst a very difficult time during this pandemic. Sincere thanks to L.I.F.E, Inc. (Lillian and Courtney) and all the amazing staff there who assisted Bob at home, to Kelly Kivlahan and Jerrica at Independent Living Resource Center, Inc., in Ventura who were incredibly kind. To Kathie Joe Kadziauskas and her team for their professionalism and kindness. And lastly, many thanks to Assisted Hospice. There are indeed angels among us and all the people listed here are surely true angels. Thank you all for your kindness, empathy, caring and compassion in helping Bob during these last years. It will never be forgotten.
Rest in peace my friend, and for the record "You did not let me down," you just had a higher calling.
"May the road rise up to meet you, may the wind always be at your back, may the sun shine warm upon your face and the rain fall gently upon your fields and until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of his hand."
