Ronald Clarence Hall

From 1948-1966 he lived on Catalina Island where his passion for motorcycle racing blossomed in 1951 at the first Catalina Grand Prix. He rode in his first race at age 20 until 1990 when he was injured in the last race he would ever ride. He had no regrets and loved his 26 years of riding.

Ron was father to son Philip and daughter Julie from his first wife Diane whom he was married to from 1965 to 1970. He started working at Disney Studios in Art Props Dept in the 60’s working as an Assistant Prop Man and eventually becoming a Property Master.

He met Donna in 1982 they married in May of 1985. He adopted Donna’s daughter Kristen in 1987 from her first marriage. They lived in North Hollywood until they moved to Oxnard Shores in 1993. They rebuilt there home there to make it accessible for Ron and they lived there 30 years. Ron was diagnosed with Alzheimer/Dementia in 2016. Ron stayed busy with projects in the garage, sweeping sand in front of his home and enjoying conversing with his neighbors. He reluctantly had to give up all the things he loved and became completely dependent on Donna for all his daily care. After he broke his leg in April of 2022 & required a higher level of care, he was not able to come back to his wife and the home he loved. Donna had to make the difficult decision to place him in a Residential Care Home where he resided for the past 19 months.

After Ron’s accident in 1990 his Union created a job for him as a Union Rep which he started in April of 1994 part time. He volunteered for the Oxnard Police Dept for almost 18 years giving parking tickets to people who parked illegally in handicap parking spaces. He volunteered for the City of Oxnard Senior Services and was able to work Spring Training for the Cowboys and New Orleans Saints several years in a row which he loved, and also volunteered at Ed Hunt’s Rehab Point as an officer.

He leaves behind his wife Donna, his 3 children Phil & spouse Michelle, Julie and Kristen, his 5 grandchildren Cheyenne & spouse Nick, Andrew & spouse Erin, Savannah, Victoria & spouse Cameron and Braidyn and his only great grandchild Hiram as well as nieces & nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother Wilma, father Ferman, sister Darlene & brother Charles.
