Ruben Ramos Barretto

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Ruben Barretto, a father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Ruben was born in Calexico, California and arrived to Oxnard as a young man. In Oxnard he met the love of his life, the former Lupe Pastrano.

Ruben is survived by 5 children; Ruben Oscar, Lydia Pacheco (Raymond), Yolanda Barretto, Marjorie Hernandez (Michael) and Diana Barretto. He also leaves behind 14 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Ruben was the oldest of 14 siblings. He is survived by 6 of them; Sally Rivera (Eddie), Gloria Andrade (Victor), Rudy Barretto, Antanacio Barretto (Priscilla), Frances Smith (Don) and Ramona Barretto.

Viewing will take place at Funeraria del Angel Oxnard Funeral Home, 401 W. Channel Islands Blvd., Oxnard, California 93033, (805)487-4911 on Thursday, September 8th from 6pm to 9pm with recitation of the Rosary at 7pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, September 9th at 10am at the Santa Clara Parish Chapel, 1333 E. Ventura Blvd. in El Rio. The burial will take place immediately after the Mass at the Santa Clara Cemetery, 2370 N H St, Oxnard, California 93036.

Information on the reception will be given after the burial.
