Ruben Suarez Aldaco was born on March 21st, 1934 to Jesus Suarez and Maria de la Luz Aldaco in Rancho Los Alvarado, Michoacan, Mexico, the fifth of six children. Ruben married Elisa Guillen in 1953 and they had three children. He is survived by his children: Maria de la Luz Negrete (Gilberto), Sylvia Nuño (Mario), and Ruben Suarez, Jr., six grandchildren René Negrete (Claudia), Gilberto Negrete (Ana), Alejandro Negrete (Mariza), Crystal Nuño, Fernando Negrete, Mario Nuño Jr., Brian Nuño, and eight great-grandchildren: René Jr., Ollin, Mateo, Elisa, Sebastian, Aiden, Sophia, and Aaron.
Ruben first came to the United States in 1953 as a nineteen-year-old, working in the cotton fields of Gilbert, Arizona, the first of many annual trips and eventually emigrating to the United States in 1967 with Elisa and their daughter Maria de la Luz, settling in Oxnard, California. After the death of Elisa in 1987, Ruben carried the load as a loving grandfather and great-grandfather. Ruben will be remembered by his family for his sense of humor, love of music, and ardent passion for the LA Dodgers, Monarcas, and El Tri.
