Theatrice Nixon Dykes

Mother Dykes attended public School in Palestine, Texas and later attended Oxnard Adult School in Oxnard, CA. She worked at Ventura County Medical Center, where she retired after 25 years.

Theatrice was a faithful servant of God. She received the Lord as her Savior at a tender age of 9 years old.

Theatrice and her family were long time members of Saint Paul Baptist Church and New Hope Baptist Church. On January 4, 1998 she joined Evangelistic Missionary Baptist Church in Port Hueneme, CA. Where she remained a faithful member until her death. She was a faithful servant of God and loved working in His vineyard which included - Usher Board, Pastor's Aide, Dorcas Circle, and Food Share ministries.

Theatrice's legacy was her faith in God, Love for her family, church, community and friends.

She leaves to cherish and honor her memory three daughters-Rev. Theatrice A. Wiggins (Eli), Relonda Tutt (Bobby), Redelda Houston (Larry); three sons - Deacon Deodise A. Nixon (Stella), Albert Dykes II, Alvin C. Dykes (Shirley); daughter-in-law - Gloria Nixon.Granddaughters- Tina R. Alexander, Cholana B. Houston (Larry), Beverly Clark (Willie), Wanda Taylor, Brenda Nixon, Angela Nixon, Michelle Tolson (Michael), Demetrice Nixon, Natasha Williams, Althea Dykes, Tamika Dykes, grandsons- Mark Tutt (Virginia), Joseph Phillips (Sylvia), Albert Dykes III, Johnny A. Dykes, Larry Dykes, Allen Dykes, Anthony Dykes, Joshua Brown (Andrea), Darrell Houston, Malcom Houston.She has 57 great-grandchildren and host of great-great-grandchildren .She was preceded in death by her Husband: Albert Dykes, Father: Frank P. Nixon, Mother: Savannah M. Nixon, Sister: Lavada Nixon, Son: Mackel C. Nixon and grandson Alvin C. Dykes Jr.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 27, 2014 11a.m. at Conrad-Carroll Funeral Home, 401 W Channel Islands Blvd, Oxnard, CA 93033. Visitation and Viewing is from 9 - 11a.m.. Services follow immediately. Burial will be at Ivy Lawn Cemetery in Ventura.
