Thomas Richard Garcia

Thomas R. Garcia age 61 passed away September 29,2013 from a lengthy illness. He was born in Ventura, California on February 2, 1952. He was preceded by the passing of his father Anthony D. Garcia who passed away earlier this February. He is survived by his mother Carmen P. Garcia; brothers Anthony A. Garcia Jr. “Wife Deanna” and Steven M. Garcia “Wife Tamara”; sisters, Sylvia Fickas “Husband Paul”, Kathleen Garcia and many nieces and nephews. Thomas graduated from Hueneme High School in 1969. Thereafter, he traveled, worked and surfed for a brief time in Hawaii. Tom then returned back to California and began a successful hair stylist career in Santa Barbara, La Jolla and finally San Diego. Because of his overwhelming success in hair styling, he opened his own salon called “Lookers” in San Diego to which he loved very much. Thomas was to all, witty, charming, loving and gracious up to the day he died. We will all remember all of the family gatherings such as camping trips, holidays, and special events with Tom by our side. Services will be held Thursday, October 3, 2013 from 3-9pm, Rosary to be recited at 7:00pm at Funeraria Del Angel Conrad’s & James Reardon Mortuary 401 W. Channel Islands Blvd, Oxnard;, Funeral Mass to be held Friday, October 4, 2013 at Noon at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church Burial to follow at Santa Clara Cemetery.
