Victor Charles Barber

Victor grew up in Oxnard and attended local schools including Mckinna Elementary where he met many lifelong friends. He never forgot the neighborhood friends he grew up with. He is remembered for being the special friend that you could confide in and always gave words of wisdom, encouragement and love. In his youth he enjoyed spending time with friends in the Hill Street neighborhood and Durley Park.

He was a graduate of Oxnard High School where he participated in Track and Field. Victor married Julie Walling February 23, 1984. During their union they had three children; Savanah, Nicole, and Joshua. Victor had a passion for working with troubled youth and the elderly. His career included working in group homes, serving as an Adult Care Provider and a Security Professional. He made an impact on many lives. Victor brought joy to his family, friends, and those with whom he worked and served. Victor will be truly missed here on earth, but we have peace knowing that he is now an Angel.

Victor was a loving Son, Father, Brother, Grandfather, Uncle, Cousin and Friend. Victor is preceded in death by his Father; Lee Archie Barber. He is survived by his Mother; Donell Barber, Children; Leigh Barber, Victor Barber II, Savanah Barber, Nicole Barber, Joshua Barber, Aisha Henry, Dathan Jackson (play son) Sisters; Debby Haynes, Joyce Bluford (Roy), Grandchildren; Nariah, Isaiah, Sa'Nyiah, Orlando, Ja'vay, Jaylan, Jazmine and many extended family including, nieces, nephews, cousins and God-children.
