Funeral services will be held at 10:00am on Monday, August 26, 2013, from Ariton Baptist Church with Reverends David Walsh and Ben Amlong officiating. Burial will follow at Andalusia Memorial Cemetery at 2:00pm with Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be from 2:00pm until 4:00pm on Sunday, August 25 at the funeral home.

Rev. Jones was born April 7, 1938 in Brewton, AL to the late Arthur Wilson and Urna Gertrude Peppers Jones. He pastored Salem Baptist Church in Tampa, Fla. for 29 years and Ariton Baptist church for five years. He served in the ministry for 50 years.

Rev. Jones is survived by his wife of 47 years, Rozita Fletcher Jones of Ariton; his son, Stephen L. Jones of Ozark; three sisters, Patricia Thomas of North Carolina, April Mann (Leslie) of Ohio and Mary Crutchfield of North Carolina; his brother, Gerald Jones of Arkansas; also surviving is his mother-in-law, Ovenia Butler of Ariton.
