

Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Monday, November 3, 2014 at Ariton Church of Christ with George Merritt officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memory Gardens with Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be held from 10:00am until the time of service on Monday at the church.

Britt was born on August 2, 1925 in Eufaula, AL. He was employed as Shelling Plant Superintendent at Blakely Peanut Company, Blakely, GA most of his life. Upon moving to Ariton, he worked with Carter Manufacturing Co., Inc., until retirement. He was a hard worker all his life, and an AVID Alabama fan. He was a faithful member of the Ariton Church of Christ and very active in his duties, especially building maintenance.
Britt was preceded in death by his parents, Josh and Alma Usry, Ellaville, GA; five brothers and one sister.
Britt is survived by his wife of 28 years, Cindy Carter-Usry, and son Eli Carter Usry of Ariton. Other children, Gail Lumpkin (Roger), Albany GA and Roger Usry (Melissa), Leesburg, GA; two stepsons, Richard Holloway (Adell), Trinity, AL and Don Holloway (Merrie) Willis, TX; two brothers, Douglas Usry (Geraldine) Ellaville, GA - Jimmy Usry (Judy) Hampton, VA; two sisters, Jo Anne Coker (Sonny) Gray, GA and Elizabeth Reed (Rainey) Moultry GA; ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Britt had a special love and admiration for his extended family. His mother-in-law, Sammy B. Carter, Carl & Jann Phillips (Sami Jo Culverhouse, Charli Phillips Bruce and Lexi Phillips Wolfe); Roger and Kym Hornsby (Taylor & Carter); Chuck and Shannon Carter (Quade and Kaylee); a special great nephew, Rob Culverhouse, and a very special young lady, Becca Wells.
